The O-1 category is for aliens of extraordinary ability in the sciences, education, athletics, arts, business and athletics. Documentary Requirements : The following is a sample of the documentation necessary to prove that the alien is of one of extraordinary ability. Evidence that the alien commands a high salary or other significantly high remuneration in relation to others in the field. You must obtain an advisory opinion from the appropriate consulting entity. Your attorney will provide you with information regarding the appropriate consulting entity for your position. Dependents: Spouses and minor children of the principal 0-1 alien can apply for 0-2 status. People in O-2 status cannot work. Duration: The initial O-1 status can be issued for up to one year and be extended indefinitely in one-year increments. Expedited processing : If you want the petition to be adjudicated within 15 days, you can pay an additional filing fee of $1000.00 for "premium processing".
